As we gear up for another semester of school, we would like to welcome all the new students and say welcome back to our returning students. We are looking forward to an exciting year!
As you visit the library, you will notice that there are some changes coming about. Over the summer we have begun the renovation process of Curry Library, and have already received some new furniture and the start of a fresh coat of paint.
The new release rental books are now located within the Reference section, and there have been some additions to the Juvenile collection. The furniture has moved around somewhat in order to create better study areas. If you need assistance locating something, please let us know.
There have been some changes in staffing as well. In the last year we have regretfully said our goodbyes to Angela Stiffler, Kenette Harder, Virginia Hill, Hugh Stocks, and Suzanne Barrett, who have moved on to bigger and better opportunities. We are excited to welcome, however, our new Library Director, Stephanie DeClue. Mrs. Declue is joining us on September 14th from the State Fair Community College Library in Sedalia, Missouri. We look forward to having her with us!
As always, please feel free to contact us if you need any assistance with library services. Our direct phone number is 816-415-7610 or you may reach us by email at ill@william.jewell.edu.

We hope everyone is still hanging in there, the semester is almost over! Due to the increased demand and utilization of the library's many resources, we are expanding the study areas on the main floor of Curry Library. We will have additional room towards the back of the library across from the journal section, which will include work areas for independent and group study. Our staff is, as always, happy to help you with all of your resource and research needs. And, as always, if there is anything we can do to improve the library's services, please let us know!

Curry Library is undergoing another transition! Dr. Hugh Stocks retired on April 1st as Curry Library Director. Dr. Fulop is in the process of appointing a search committee for his replacement. Elise Fisher will be serving as Interim Director until a new director is hired. Progress will not stop during this transition period. The Curry Library staff are committed to continuing the level of service necessary to support the academic needs of William Jewell students and faculty.
This is an important time for Curry Library. We are beginning our evolution into a 21st Century library. A 21st Century library means a library that not only has books and other print materials, that part will not change, but extends itself into a collaborative learning environment. This new environment will enable students to learn in the manner that best suits their personal academic needs. In keeping with the mission of Curry Library, we will continue to provide the best in library services to the William Jewell academic community.

We hope you had a relaxing, fun Spring Break and are ready to tackle the rest of semester. In addition to the daily readings, you probably have a lot of projects and papers due in the coming weeks. One helpful tool available through Curry Library is EndNote Web. EndNote Web helps you keep your research resources organized and will help you format a reference list or bibliography for your papers. Please stop by the reference office to get signed up for EndNote Web and learn how this can help speed up your research process. As always, when you need help getting started with your research be sure to stop by the reference desk for that extra boost .
