What are you telling future employers? You may be telling them one thing face to face but quite another with your online persona.

A lunchtime discussion on the online behavior of undergraduates proved very interesting. One colleague commented that she was dismayed when she got a professional email from a student with a decidedly unprofessional tagline. Here are some examples given for email names: hotmama; twinkletoes; pukewhendrunk. Another colleague said she makes it a rule to check Facebook and MySpace pages before hiring. Her experience has been that even with a stellar resume, the online behavior displayed through Facebook or MySpace pictures and posts may tell a very different story.

Check out your online image to see if that is what you what a potential employer to know about you.
